Diana Douds Larson, age 76, of Plain City, OH, lost her life on February 1, 2025, from complications due to pneumonia and COPD. Diana was a graduate of Columbus Whetstone High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University. Diana spent 31 years working for the State of Ohio in various agencies, first as a Secretary in the House of Representatives and ultimately retiring from the Bureau of Workman’s Compensation.
Diana was a very giving person. She was always cooking up food for family or friends that were sick. In her younger days, she loved hosting dinner parties and for a few years, a huge Halloween party, her favorite holiday. Though she had no children, Diana consistently hosted family holiday gatherings and shared her culinary skills with her nieces. She had a quick, and fortunately minor, brush with breast cancer. A long time crochet advocate, she immediately started making chemo caps. She would make some and drop them off at Dublin Methodist Hospital and at last count, they totaled around 800.
Diana is preceded in death by her father, William Douds and mother, Areata. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Larson; brother, Terry Douds; nieces Alison Douds and Lillian Swails (Justin). She is also survived by extended family members and countless friends. There will be a memorial held from 4-6pm, February 26, 2025, at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 N. High St., Columbus, OH. Diana loved her kitties so, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Ohio SPCA. https://www.ohiospca.org/donate-now
