Denice Sales Koslow, age 69, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio after succumbing to a terminal lung disease. It would be wrong to say that Denice lost her battle. This strong and extremely loving yet stubborn Texas lady never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she got, she was determined to keep breathing as long as possible. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
Denice was the only daughter of former Crane, Tx residents Murph and Nell Sales. She was a graduate of Crane, Texas class of 1969. In 1973, Denice graduated from West Texas University in Canyon, Texas with a degree in Education. In 1992, she graduated from University of North Texas of Denton, Texas with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Denice taught middle and junior high schools in Monahans and Lancaster, Texas for a total of 16 years. After moving to Columbus, Ohio with her late ex-husband (Alex Koslow) and two children, she taught middle school in Columbus City schools for 2 years before working at Westerville School District as a teacher/Director of Technology for 20 years. After 38 years in Education, she retired in 2015.
Denice is survived by children Stephen (Jennifer) Koslow and Travis Koslow of Columbus, Ohio; brothers Chic Sales of Livingston, TX, and Tom Sales of Citrus Heights, CA; grandsons Alexander and Austin Koslow of Columbus, OH; a niece, two nephews, and numerous cousins and friends. Denice loved the outdoors, shopping, traveling, and watching the grandkids play sports, as well as the occasional “donation” to the casino. She was much loved and will be dearly missed by all.
