Debra Anne Muller, 66, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away on June 21, 2023. Born in Lakewood, NJ, on May 24, 1957 to her late parents Heulings and Mary Lou [Morse] Sever, Debbie grew up on the beautiful Jersey Shore. She graduated from Toms River South High School and pursued various careers but her family and her home were always her first priorities.
On June 25, 1983, Debbie and Gene were married in Point Pleasant, NJ, celebrating aboard a cruise boat on the Barnegat Bay. The following year they moved to Long Island where they were blessed with four sons. In 2001 the family relocated to Delaware, Ohio, where Debbie took on the role of overseeing their small hobby farm.
Embracing her role as mother of Timothy [Sarah], James [grandchildren Derek and Ethan], Brian [Cassie], and Christian, Debbie’s nurturing nature spilled over to raising lambs, miniature donkeys, chickens, and guinea hens for fun and participation in the county fair. She was known as Mama Muller to her sons’ friends. Playing as hard as she worked, Debbie caught prize-winning fish; took prize-winning photos; and tackled every challenge with enthusiasm and good humor.
In addition to her husband, sons, and grandchildren, Debbie is also remembered by her sisters Karen Olshefskie and Joan [Joseph] Ranson; Muller brothers-in-law Harry [Ann], William [Lynne], and Robert [Laura]; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews. Special to Debbie were her friendships with Mary and Jess Jakeway and Gary and Maryann Mazarakis.
The Muller family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and staff at the Kobacker House for their exceptional care during Debbie’s final days. A family celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation made to a local animal humane society in her name would have pleased Debbie very much.
