Our beautiful, brave son, Daylon Smothers-Long, was born on December 2nd, 1994, and passed away on June 1, 2023.
Daylon Siku Smothers-Long, December 2, 1994 – June 1, 2023, age 28, of Columbus Ohio, passed away at his parents’ home. He was a graduate of Whetstone High School (2013) GO BRAVES! He was employed at JK Group of Companies and worked part-time at Forty Duces.
Daylon is survived by his mother, Christina Long; bonus father, Tommy Nestor; his ride or die grandmother, Joyce Fallet, sister Anastasia (Larry) Young; brother Timothy (Taylor) White and his cousin who he loved like a sister, Bailey (Corey & Joe) Wildi. His aunts, Carol (Chris) Jordon and Leeann (Ray) Reams, and nephew Dominic and niece Sage.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, David Fallet.
Daylon made an instant impact on everyone who met him, and no one could ever forget his smile, it was guaranteed to brighten your day. Daylon was a beautiful soul, and he will always be remembered for his infectious laugh. Daylon was loved fiercely by his family and friends. He will remain the brightest light in their lives and live forever in their hearts.
Daylon loved sketching and we will forever have the gift of his artwork. His childhood days were spent on the baseball fields at Forest Park, and he carried the love for sports into his high school years where he was on the baseball and wrestling teams. He was passionate about spending time with his friends at concerts, skiing, hiking, or floating down a river.
Daylon was and will forever be the warm sun that shines on our faces, we cherish the beautiful memories made and the love we will always hold in our hearts.
A celebration of life for Daylon will be held on Sunday, June 25, at the S.J.C.C. Event Center, 2707 Northland Plaza Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43231, from 1:30 to 5:30. A eulogy will be given at 3:00.
