David M "Mike" MacNealy

David M. "Mike" MacNealy, 80, passed away on February 6, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, born on August 25, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 

Mike lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and service to both his family and his interests.

Mike proudly served in the United states Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966. His deep appreciation for military history remained with him throughout his life, as he spent countless hours researching Marine Corps history. His love for mechanics and racing was evident in his lifelong dedication to autocar racing and restoring vintage motorcycles-particularly Zündapp models. For over four decades, he worked alongside his son on racecars, a shared passion that strengthened their bond. In the last 25 years of his life, Mike volunteered at his son's business where he was needed, always willing to lend a hand. 

known for his kindness and generosity tempered with a firm sense of discipline, Mike left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jean MacNealy, and his daughter, Heather Michelle MacNealy. He is survived by his son, Sean A. MacNealy, and Sean's girlfriend, Elizabeth(Beth) Ramey, as well as many close friends and neighbors. 

A graveside service with honors, to honor Mike and his wife Mary Jean MacNealy  will be held on March 12, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery, located at 1000 Greenlawn Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43223. The service will begin at 2pm and conclude at 3pm.

Mike's legacy lives on through the memories of those who knew him and the many lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
