David Ford Daniels passed away at the age of 75 on December 19th, 2019, peacefully, in his Delaware, Ohio home of 30 years. David was born on February 27th, 1944 to Leonard & Rose Daniels. He fought for his country by serving in the Army and completing his duties in Vietnam. Upon returning home, David worked driving semi-trucks for Sunray (Amana) for multiple decades, where he met his late wife, Roberta T. Daniels (Colwell), & married for 40 years with one late son, James C. Daniels.
David and Roberta raised their granddaughter Theresa "Tia" Daniels-Mann, beginning in the 80's, and had many other wonderful grandchildren by their daughter-in-law Dottie Kimes and her husband David Kimes. David loved ministering at the church he built in Delaware, Ohio ("In The Beginning") while being apart of such a large family with their extended grandchildren Danielle, Erica, David, Sarah, and Matthew Kimes. David restored a 1960 Chevy Impala, went to many car shows, loved listening to music from the 1950's and 1960's, and won many trophies for his Chevy's flame throwing contests. David loved riding his motorcycle, feeding the birds and squirrels every morning, and caring for his neighbors lawns.
David shared wonderful friendships with his brother-in-law, Pat Colwell, his nephew Bill Bush Jr., and his grandson David Kimes II. They each held a wonderful friendship with him that will forever be remembered and cherished.
David Daniels was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Rose Daniels, his wife Roberta T. Daniels (Colwell), his son James C. Daniels, his sister Clara Jean (William R. Bush Sr. and Charles Boyd) Daniels Bush Boyd, his brother Don Daniels, his brother Steven (Connie) Daniels, his brother Warren Daniels, his brother-in-law & sister-in-law Clearance "Jinx" (Barbara) Colwell, and his sister-in-law Lois Colwell.
David is survived by his granddaughter Theresa "Tia" (Jesse) Daniels-Mann, grandson David Kimes II, brother-in-law Pat Colwell, brother-in-law James Colwell Sr., sister-in-law Tonya Smith, daughter-in-law Dottie (David) Kimes, grandchildren Danielle (Dillon) Senft, Erica (Toby) Tucker, Sarah (Willis) New, Matthew (Sarah) Kimes, and great-grandchildren Lillian Harris, Christopher Harris, Nathaniel Moore II, and Isabella Moore. David is survived multiple close family members and friends, including many friends at his last place of employment, By-Line of Marysville, in which he drove semi-trucks for many years before retiring.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of David Daniels on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 280 E. Central Ave., Delaware, OH 43015. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, followed by funeral services at 12:00 pm. Family and friends are encouraged to follow the funeral procession to Fairview Cemetery on Ostrander Rd (in Ostrander) for committal services at 1:00 pm.
The family would like to thank the Meyer family, whom owns The Blue Bird Boutique at 280 E. Central Avenue, Delaware, OH, for allowing the visitation and funeral to be held in this location, as it was the church David built.
