Daniel (Dan) Bryon Haffke, 57, of Canal Winchester, passed away on January 11th after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He passed in his home peacefully while being cared for by his loving family.
Dan was born on February 7, 1967, to Jo Haffke in San Pedro, California.
In 1997, Dan and Charleen Haffke met in California, and it was love at first sight. They were happily married in June of 1998 and were fortunate enough to spend 26 years together. They raised their two sons Daniel Munoz and Steven Haffke.
Dan worked hard and dedicated himself to learning construction and finished carpentry. Through his work, Dan was an artist who best showed his skill through his meticulous attention to detail and design. Dan spent nearly 30 years helping to build and renovate homes for many people. He loved his work and took any opportunity to mentor those around him.
Dan was an intelligent man who saw the world through a unique lens. His perspective on life gave him the ability to have abundant compassion and understanding for others regardless of their struggles or shortcomings. As such, he became a father figure and friend to many people over the years and cultivated many loving relationships.
He is best remembered as being an encourager, a truth seeker, a helper, and man of faith. Whenever a need appeared, Dan rose to the call ready to fix any issue. He was and forever will be “Dan, the man”.
Dan was predeceased by his mother, Jo Haffke, material grandmother Bernice Reimer, and Father Eugene Haffke.
He is survived by his wife, Charleen Haffke; sisters Crystal Haffke and Deanna Warren; brother Skip Haffke; sons Daniel Munoz and Steven Haffke, along with his partner Thomas Struck; stepdaughters Laura Arnett and Leeann McGonigle, along with her spouse Aaron McGonigle; and his many step-grandchildren.
Though Dan left us too soon, he will be loved and missed always.
“I am the only one, the all.
I am the one upon whom I call
When darkness doth appear,
Or when I seem to fear,
Some presence, power, or blight,
That could obscure the light.
I am the Heaven and the Earth.
I am the life that knows no birth,
No change, no age, no death.
I am the one, the only mind,
The one it seemed that I must find.
Till I awoke to see,
The I am that is me.”
