SWETNAM

Dan Swetnam, age 69, passed away on May 8th 2016. Dan was blessed to be born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Emerson Swetnam, and Jane (Garrison) Swetnam, two of the greatest parents, and two members in good standing of the Greatest Generation. Having been raised in a most loving home, and growing up in our country during one of the greatest times in our country’s history, the 50’s and early 60’s. Dan said he also felt blessed to learn the values of honesty, hard work, patriotism, and morality, when America was at its most united.  Dan attended Ohio State University for two years, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He received basic training, and advanced training as a medic, graduating 2nd in his class, and further advanced training in pharmacy technology, where he graduated 5th in his class. He had numerous stations throughout the country and met his future wife of 39 years. After 20 years of service he retired in Wichita, Kansas and worked for the post office as a Letter Carrier for 18 years. Upon the death of his wife of 39 years, he moved to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida where he would later marry, Wanda Monroe, and they settled in Navarre, Florida. Dan loved sports; he played varsity football and baseball during his days at Linden McKinley high school and was a rabid fan of fishing, as well as a huge fan of Ohio State Football. He is survived by his loving wife Wanda and step children Ryan Myers, Amber Myers, Justin Myers and wife Sandra, and step grandchildren Trisitan, Logan, Trinity, and. Adriana. He so loved his family and his country and his God and always felt blessed that he received far more in life than he deserved.  Shaw-Davis.com
