D. Scott Garver

David “Scott” Garver from Reynoldsburg, passed away Thursday morning, July 25,2024 in Pataskala at Oaks Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Lakewood, Ohio on July 16th 1952, to Clayton and Janice “Toni” Garver and they preceded him in death. Also Scott was preceded in death by his brothers Rusty Garver and Skip Garver.

Scott graduated from Kent State University and  High School in Kent, Ohio in 1970 where he played football and was quite successful in swimming and held numerous records. He also attended Glen Oaks Community College, Baldwin Wallace College, Bowling Green State University, Capital University and Eastland-Fairfield Career Center where he followed several interests.

Scott worked in the Sales Field in one capacity or another for years. He enjoyed traveling to various cities and meeting with people. Once he retired, he enjoyed watching TV, especially Godzella and King Kong, taking naps and cuddling our puppy Sassy. He was a Big Cleveland Browns Fan where he followed them not only on TV but had a Cleveland App that he could follow on his phone and PC.

Scott is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 11 years, Deborah Garver, stepsons Chad (Jennifer) Rotruck of Grove City, Ohio and David (Jenn) Rotruck of Baltimore, Ohio, 7 granchildren and 11 great grandchildren, Brother-in-law Garry (Jo Ann) Scarberry of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, many nieces and nephews.

Also surviving Scott are cousins Gayle Brun and Sue Schnittke of Strongsville, Jim (Grace) Thrall of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Nancy Thrall of Alexandria, Va, Cameron Thrall of Brandywine, MD., Libby (Peter) Roberson of Ann Arbor, Michigan

Arrangements is being handled by Shaw-Davis Funeral Home. As per his request, there will be no services and burial to be held at a later date.
