Craig Maggard, aged 62, went to be with the Lord on January 21st, 2020. Born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and raised in Columbus, Ohio, he was a skilled lineman for over 30 years, a talented singer and piano player and, according to him, had the best taste in music. Accomplished “Dad joke” teller, sharer of cheesy internet memes, and able to quote Tombstone line for line. He was a man of faith with a kind heart and a gentle soul, who loved God and his family above all things. Preceded in death by his sister Lynn Headings and his stepfather Bill Wells. Survived by his mother Linda Wells, father Carl Maggard, stepmother Tricia Maggard, children Lyndsey Maggard, Annie Mills and Ben Maggard, grandchildren Ayden Mills, Adalia Mills, Asa Mills and Alynn Mills, brothers David Maggard and Sam Maggard, brother in law Terry Headings, nephews Seth and Scott Headings, niece Kaylee Maggard and nephew DJ Maggard. Visitation and viewing, Tuesday January 28th 2020 from 5-6 pm with memorial service starting at 6pm at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home Clintonville Chapel 4341 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43214. Craig was a humble man, so no fancy clothes required. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Refuge at https://therefugeohio.org. The family extends an invitation to join them afterwards at Craig’s favorite Mexican place, Chile Verde at 4852 Sawmill Rd. Columbus, OH 43235 starting around 7:30pm. Tales will be spun, songs will be played…but only those Craig would have deemed worthy.
