Beautiful and loved mother Coalene Foppiano-Jenkins passed Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 to be with the Lord. Coalene was born on March 13, 1937 to Cathryn and Wibur Cross in Columbus, Ohio. Coalene served in the U.S Army as a paramedic in The Korean War and later studied art therapy at the Columbus College of Art and Design. She retired after 25 years of dedicated employment from Darden. A few of her hobbies include: drawing, reading, sewing, and playing bingo.
She was known fondly as Gram by many, Mommy to her children and Sissy to her dearest friend. She expressed her love by various means including affection, soothing words and thoughtful, handcrafted gifts.
Coalene continued to foster eternal bonds with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren while continuously fighting against multiple illnesses. As a trusted confidant, she had an individual connection with everyone who had the fortune of experiencing her tender love. She is preceded in death and joined in heaven with Cathryn Cross (Mother), Wilbur Cross (Father), Jerry Meyer (Sister), Antonio Foppiano (Son), and Jennifer Foppiano (Granddaughter).
She leaves behind 3 siblings, 4 children: Chrissy Patterson, Angie Foppiano, Dena Flores, and Richard Foppiano, 6 Grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren. Also left behind are countless friends, nieces, and nephews.
May her words be not forgotten in all of the hearts who are mourning her loss:
"In my life, to have this family, God has truly blessed me. If all my babies are loved and happy, I can wish for nothing else. It's been a very long journey, and I am tired, but it is as it should be. The old make room for the young, look at all of the new ones coming into this world. . You have given me great honor, and I thank you and love you forever." –Coalene Jenkins
