Charles Rodan Webb

Charles Rodan Webb died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 22. Chuck had a deep curiosity and a desire to continually broaden his thinking. He always asked tough questions and pushed for impact and outcomes. Hard work, discipline, and determination took Chuck far from his humble beginnings in rural northwestern Ohio. He had clear aspirations and put himself through college , earning degrees from Bowling Green State University, Case Western Reserve and the Harvard Business School.

He had extensive experience in the financial services industry. He worked as a CPA, a Chief Executive Officer, a Chief Financial Officer and an Investment Banker. He was founder and CEO of Charles Webb & Company, Executive Vice President of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, , President and CEO of General Ohio S & L Corporation, Partner of Meuse, Rinker, a Partner with Deloitte and co- founder of Ernst & Webb, LLC.

Mr. Webb was a Finance Lecturer at the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University. He has served on corporate and non-profit boards, including University of Toledo Board of Trustees ( Vice Chairman), Bowling Green State University Foundation Board ( President and Treasurer) , University of Mount Union Board of Trustees, the Dean’s Advisory Council at the Fisher School of Business, The Ohio State University Ross Hospital Board of Trustees, and the NVLF.

At The Ohio State University he established the Charles R. Webb Professorship of Finance, endowed two scholarships for undergraduate students, and established The Webb Family Endowment at the Ross Heart Hospital.

Charles Webb is survived by his wife, Patricia Mathews Webb, son Ryan ( Lisa Teal) , son in law Justin Collamore, step children Sarah Mathews Roesch (John), Elizabeth Mathews Caudill (Jim), Colin Mathews (Karly) and Alix Mathews Soske (Ed). Grandchildren Tyler (Jenny), Noah, Cole, and Eli. Step grandchildren Cole, Brock, Trent, Brady, Owen, Will, Riley, Payton, Rory, and Tucker. Sister Bev Carper (Ken), and nephew Matt Carper (Maggie). Predeceased by daughter Allison and wife Barbara.

Funeral services will be on Friday, June 30, 4pm at First Community Church ( North) 3777 Dublin Road, Columbus. Reception to follow at Scioto Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the Charles Webb Family Endowment Fund (607617), supporting The Ohio State University’s Heart and Vascular Center, PO Box 710811, Columbus, Ohio 43271-0811.
