Charles Mawhirter

Charles “Chick” Mawhirter passed away on November 16th at the age of 67 after an extended illness. A graduate of North High School class of 1969 and a graduate and long-time employee of The Ohio State University, Charles lived his entire life in Columbus, OH. Charles was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church choir and a vocalist in several local bands.  An avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, he also had interests in international sports, reading, travel, and fine dining.  He is survived by his wife Jane, son Dennis (Katy Hogan), sister Karen (Cory) Estabrook, and numerous loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In passing, he joins his father Jack, mother Kate, and brother John. Family and friends may visit 5:00-8:00 pm on Monday, November 26th at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 N High St., Columbus, OH 43214. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 27th at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E North Broadway.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org .
