Cathie Elaine Cooper, 66, of Grove City, Ohio passed away suddenly on December 8, 2019. She was born the oldest child of Junior Hilterbran and Anna McCalla in Greenfield, Ohio on January 21, 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bruce Hilterbran, and husband Stanley Cooper. Stanley and Cathie shared 34 years together, 17 of them after their marriage in June 1990. An accomplished author and celebrated educator, she received a Master of Library Sciences from Kent State University. She served as the District Media Coordinator at Adena Local Schools in Frankfurt, Ohio before retiring in 2011 only to return to education as an E-Learning Specialist with INFOhio. She had recently become an adjunct professor, and continued to influence the lives of students at every age.
She is survived by her son Austin Cooper, daughter Rachel Cooper, sister Teresa Colliver, brother-in-law Kenneth (Cheryl) Cooper, niece Elizabeth (Josh) Ratcliff, nephew Kyle (Davina) Cooper, and nephew Seth Cooper.
Cathie’s home, 2307 Blodwen Circle, Grove City, OH 43123, will be open for a celebration of her life on January 4th from 1-6pm. Color attire is encouraged and refreshments will be provided.
