Carol Lynn Jenkins was born on September 26, 1937 to parents John Maley Jr. and Marian Elizabeth Maley. She was solo vocalist at commencement graduating 3rd in her class from Leavittsburg High School and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Ohio State University in Clinical Psychology. On August 4, 1968 she was united in Holy Matrimony with William A. Jenkins and to this union were born two children, twins, Sherman William Jenkins and Andria Ruth Jenkins. Carol Lynn was a clinical psychologist and retired from The State of Ohio, State Hospital after many years of exemplary service and diligence in her field. Carol Lynn was a licensed minister and fervently participated in outreach to many organizations, often traveling to San Salvador and was a faithful member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God, One Church. Her love of Christ was also expressed through music as a choir member for many years and through her inspirational musicality with her French Horn. With an extensive appreciation of music, Carol Lynn was a band member while attending The Ohio State University though not permitted to take the field as women were not allowed to march at that time. She was in Tau Beta Sigma, an honor society for the band which greeted opposing bands and assisted with preparation of the marching band. Carol Lynn had especially fond memories from earlier years of joyous family gatherings at the Lake Cottage, Lake Erie and often reminisced of enjoyable times with her Uncles, Aunts and cousins. On Thursday May 4, 2017, Carol Lynn departed this life. In addition to her parents, Carol Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved husband William A. Jenkins, her beloved daughter Andria Ruth Jenkins, and her beloved son Sherman William Jenkins. Carol Lynn leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Frances Jenkins, Grandchildren William Dade Jenkins, Lauren Frances Jenkins and their Mother Brenda Jenkins Watts (Jason), a sister Sylvia Fisher, Nephew Zachary Fisher (Andrea), Niece Jessie Lynn Honig (Matt), Nephew Timothy Fisher, Niece Kathy Craig, Great Nieces Bayley and Mattie, Cousins Patti Allen (Jay), Tom Maley (Debbie), Pastors Rob and Kelly Cowden, Pastors Roy and Judith Young, Pastors Don and Kathy Young, Pastor Bates and Anita Bates, Pastor Gene Speich and Mrs. Speich, Nancy Tucker, friends Sharda, Sharon and Karen, neighbor John and a host of other relatives , neighbors and dear friends. Celebration of Life to take place on Saturday May 13th 2017 at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N. High, Columbus Ohio, viewing hours 2:00 p.m. with services following at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Gene Speich officiating.
