MALOGORSKI
Carol Ann Malogorski of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 surrounded by her family at Riverside Hospital after a lengthy struggle with cancer. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on 9/11/1943 to Howard and Patricia (McKinney) Freeze and was a graduate of Beavercreek High School.
On 12/5/1965 she married Michael Lon Malogorski in Beavercreek, Ohio. Michael was a radio DJ for several broadcasts in Ohio and Indiana by the call name “Mike Royal”. He precedes her in death. Together they had two children; a son Matthew (Jamie Riddle) Malogorski of Columbus, Ohio and a daughter Julie (Jason Rambo) Malogorski of Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
Carol worked for Kohl’s Department Stores for over 20 years, where she made many long-time friends. She retired in 2014 to spend more time with her grandchildren and the second love of her life, David Riebel of Columbus, Ohio. He is an alumnus of The Ohio State University and they enjoyed spending time together cheering for the Buckeyes, getaways to casinos, and being with family.
She will be remembered for her sweet spirit and loving nature, for always having a smile and a hug ready. Her favorite thing about life was laughter and the people that she loved. She cherished the monthly Freeze Family Night where her very close siblings, Nita (Jim) Gable, Bob (Lois) Freeze, and Mark (Pat) Freeze would gather together with all of their children and grandchildren for dinner and fun. Carol would make her pineapple upside down cake or her famous cherry cream cheese dessert and share in good times and family stories.
Carol was a supportive and beloved mother, a grandmother to seven grandchildren: Alexa and Brandon Malogorski; Alex, Nick, Dalton, and Bridget Dennis, and Jessica Rambo. She was delighted to become a great-grandmother to Donovan in 2018. She was a blessing to the lives of so many and will be greatly missed, although her memory will always be carried in our hearts.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday 3/24/18 at Beaver United Church of Christ at 1960 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio, 45434. Visiting hour begins at 10:00a.m. The funeral service is at 11:00 a.m., followed by the graveside service at Mount Zion Park Cemetery at 27 South Fairfield Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45440.
