NAPOLI
Carlla Sue “Mickey” Napoli, age 75, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on July 25th 2016 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by parents Carl and Mary Juanita Knaus, husband Richard J. Napoli, and Janice Campbell, a sister. She was born on February 27th, 1941 in Hamilton Ohio and attended Ross High School and The Ohio State University, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Mickey had an unmatched zest for life. Whether it was a Big Wheel race for bragging rights, or the mentorship of young girls at Holy Name School as a softball, basketball and volleyball coach, she was all in. The Diocese of Columbus awarded her the Coach of the Year award in 1973. She returned to OSU and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1986. Of all the hats she wore in life, she was an artist at heart. Mickey is survived by daughter Dana (Robert) Shook and son Rick (Penny) Napoli, grandchildren Emma and Jacob Shook, Aaron and Valentino Napoli, sisters Beverley Quinn and Karen McDonald and many nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Whetstone Care Center. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
