Bruce Alan Houchard, age 55 died 10/1/2017 at Grant Medical Center. Preceded in death by his mother Clara, brothers Jack and infant Michael. Survived by his wife of 15 years, Melissa, father Kermit (Linda), sisters Donna Garner (Jim) and Diane Scholl, nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Bruce, and many friends who undoubtedly can recall a favorite “Bruce” story. Bruce graduated from Franklin Heights High School and attended the Ohio State University. His work history varied; he most enjoyed positions where he interacted with people.
Bruce’s personality and presence were larger than life. He had an uncanny ability to acclimate himself to any situation. He had a wide array of friends from all walks of life, who will remember him for his sense of humor, his vocabulary, his knack for telling a joke, his endless knowledge on any given subject, but most of all, being available to help. Bruce would do anything for anybody at any time. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, quick wit and a love for his friends and family that is unmatched and admired by all of those that were fortunate enough to have known him. He is gone from this world but lovingly remembered always with a smile. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Sunday, October 8th, 2pm - 5pm at the Skyward Grille Skybox at 2185 Riverside Drive (next to the Dominos). In lieu of flowers, there will be a basket at the gathering for donations to cover final expenses.
