Beulah Barkes

November 22, 1941 — March 7, 2021

Beulah Belle McDonald Barkes, went to be with her Lord on Sunday March 7, 2021, the past 6 years she has suffered with Alzheimer-dementia.

She was preceded in passing by her son Eric John Barkes and daughter Amy Lee Barkes.  She is survived by her husband of 60 years John E Barkes and her daughter Erin M Wahl, son in law Bradley Wahl and three grandchildren, Gwendolyn Wahl (Jill), Colby Wahl (Allison) and Peter Wahl (Rachel), her sister Ruby VanMeter and brother Larry (Pam) McDonald, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Beulah was a graduate of Linden McKinley high school in Columbus, Ohio and she attended Milligan College near Elizabethton, TN. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University.

Upon graduation from The Ohio State University she was employed at the Ohio State Historical Museum as an archeologist.

She and her husband John worked as volunteers in Israel for two years where they resided in Gilo and Har Gilo near Jerusalem and Bethlehem.  She always had a love for Israel.

Some of her interests were working with the homeless and the anti-abortion issues.  Beulah spent many hours researching her family tree and has authored several book of family histories for numerous families as well as her own. She was a devout believer in God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
