Obituary

Beatriz Eugenia Sandoval passed away suddenly on 02.21.2021 due to a hemorrhagic stroke she suffered while at her home in Columbus, OH. She was rushed to the hospital early on 02.20.2021 and passed away early the next day. She was preceded in death by her only spouse, Alfonso Sandoval. She is survived by the following immediate family:

• Sebastian Sandoval (eldest son)
• Samuel Sandoval (younger son)
• Sarah Sandoval (daughter)
• Marina Williams (mother)
• Martha Lasso (sister) and spouse Carlos Arturo
• Cristina Grenier (sister) and spouse Roly
• Constanza Beebe (sister) and spouse Mike

She was born in Armenia, Colombia in 1957 as the daughter of Nestor Daniel Lasso Rodriguez and Marina Williams (Hoyos). She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and spent significant parts of her life in Colombia, Canada and the United States. She spent the last few decades working at Worthington Industries and most recently led the alternatives fuels team.

She was an exceptional woman in many ways. She was especially generous in giving of her time and love to those around her. Beatriz regularly went out of her way to help family when needs arose and was a strong protector and guide to her children – not to mention that she was known for her fastidious desire to maintain orderliness and cleanliness. She was an exceptional cook, loved to travel and drag others into new experiences with her, she rose to meet all of life’s challenges with resilience, class and kindness.

Her legacy will be her children. She passed away with a calm heart knowing that all her children are organized and set up with their own affairs in life moving forward. She was active in her congregation as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and held fast to the hope of a resurrection in the future. Beatriz was dearly loved by those whose lives she touched. The world was forever changed by her actions and it is with warm hearts and good memories that we say goodbye to her now.

Beatriz Eugenia Sandoval falleció súbitamente en su casa en Columbus, Ohio, USA el 21 de febrero del 2021 a causa de una hemorragia cerebral. El día 20 de febrero, en la mañana, ella fue rápidamente trasladada al hospital y falleció temprano el día siguiente. Fue precedida en la muerte por su único esposo, Alfonso Sandoval. Sobrevive la siguiente Familia:

Beatriz nació en Armenia, Colombia en 1957, hija de Néstor Daniel Lasso Rodríguez y Marina Williams (Hoyos). Recibió su grado en Arquitectura y pasó gran parte de su vida en Colombia, Canadá y los Estados Unidos. Estuvo durante las últimas décadas trabajando en “Worthington Industries” y últimamente dirigió el equipo de “combustibles alternativos”.

Fue una mujer excepcional en muchas formas, especialmente generosa en dar su tiempo y amor a aquellos que estaban a su al rededor. Beatriz regularmente fue más allá de lo necesario para ayudar a la familia cuando surgían necesidades; protegió con fortaleza y fue guía para sus hijos.  – sin dejar de mencionar ese deseo persistente que tenía para mantener todo en orden y limpio. Ella era excepcional en sus habilidades culinarias, amaba viajar y atraía a otros a vivir nuevas experiencias con ella, se midió a la altura de los desafíos de la vida y lo hizo con resiliencia, clase y bondad.

Su legado serán sus hijos. Beatriz falleció con su corazón tranquilo sabiendo que todos sus hijos están organizados, preparados para enfrentar la vida y seguir adelante. Fue muy activa en su congregación como una Testigo de Jehová y se aferró a la esperanza de una futura resurrección.  Beatriz fue amada por aquellos quienes sus vidas fueron tocadas por ella. El mundo fue cambiado para siempre por sus acciones y es con corazones cálidos y buenos recuerdos que hoy nos despedimos de ella.
