Barry Couturier

COUTURIER

Barry Lee Couturier was born on 08/18/1959 to William J. And Delores E. Couturier of Northport, MI. He was their fourth child and youngest son.

Barry passed Wednesday 03/30/2016 in his home that he shared with his wife of 33 years, Kelly A. Couturier. Barry & Kelly were married on 09/24/1983 in Suttons Bay, MI.

They had 5 children and 1 granddaughter:

Britne D. West and her daughter Kayla, Brian J. Couturier, Julie A. Couturier, Megan M. Couturier, and Taylor B. Couturier.

One of Barry’s favorite accomplishments prior to his marriage & children, was touring Europe with the 1977 Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Symphony Orchestra, where he played trombone.

A few years later, Barry joined the U.S Navy. During that time, he met his wife and later left the service for health reasons.  From there, he spent the next 33 years raising his children with his wife.

In the end, Barry expressed how happy he was to be near his children. His love for his family was unquestionable. The two things that made him happiest were his family and music.

Barry is survived by his wife Kelly A. Couturier of Columbus, OH; Daughter Britne D. West (Terry L. West) and 7 year old granddaughter Kayla of Chesapeake, VA. Son Brian J. Couturier and his longtime partner Dustin Scott of Columbus, OH. Daughters Julie A. Couturier and Megan M. Couturier of Columbus, OH. Mother Delores E. Couturier of Morley, MI. And his siblings Mazie Normand, Al Couturier, Ron Couturier, along with their families.

Barry is preceded in death by Father William J. Couturier, Son Taylor B. Couturier, and his K-9 companion of 17 years Maria Lynn.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 from 3:30 pm - 5:15 pm at the SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOMES, Victorian Village Chapel, 34 West 2nd Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201. Where Barry's funeral service will follow at at 5:15 pm.
