Barbara Alice Linzell was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 4, 1935 to parents Joseph and Alice Miller. She passed away on Friday February 9, 2024.
Barbara is survived by husband Lewis (Ned) and children Lewis (Sheryl), Sam (Lynn), Nancy (Rick), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara engaged in many adventures. She never shied away from challenges. From horseback riding, sailing, triathlons, karate, fencing, and hiking, she was game for anything new. She shared many road trips throughout the United States with husband Ned. Always a caregiver, she held great compassion for all living things big and small. She loved horses and horseback riding. As a young woman she rode horses with her mother and taught horseback riding. Later, she passed that love on to her daughter, Nancy as they took care of three beautiful horses. She shared a love for cycling with Ned. Together they shared many cycling experiences including bike racing, triathlons and bike tours. The love for the outdoors which she shared with Ned led to many road trips to camp and hike in National Parks. Barbara enjoyed gardening and beekeeping. Together with Ned, they planted roses and wildflower gardens in their yard in Clintonville. Barbara created in the kitchen as well. Christmas time always arrived with a bounty of cookies from family recipes.
As a mother she was dedicated to providing growth opportunities for her children. Whether it was baseball, karate, gymnastics or horseback riding she selflessly made sure everyone got where they needed to be. When someone needed a little motivation, she knew just how to push. Along with Ned she helped her children learn to be responsible, polite, and ambitious. Her sense of curiosity in all things passed on to her children. Her lessons live on and she will be forever in our hearts.
