Andrea “Renée” Stewart, affectionately known as “Miss Renée” was born at THE Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on December 1, 1964. Arriving three months prematurely and weighing in at just under three pounds, she was a fighter from the start. Renée spent her early years in Nashville, Tennessee and Chicago, Illinois, ultimately returning to Columbus during adolescence where she remained. She was a graduate of the 1982 class of Eastmoor High School and briefly attended Bliss College where she studied fashion merchandising. During her teenage and early adult years, she was very active in her school and community serving on the Pep Rally, Archery Club and modeling locally.
One of her passions was teaching and guiding children and she was always active in the lives of youth in the Capital Park neighborhood. One of the jobs she was most proud of was her role as a lead preschool teacher for KinderCare Learning Centers. In later years, she was also a longtime employee of the Dispatch Printing Company.
After a brief battle with brain cancer, Renée won her ticket to Paradise and flew first class on the afternoon of April 30, 2018. In her 53 years of life, there was never a dull moment with Renée and she will always be remembered for her spunky, feisty, keep-it-real, forever lecturing someone’s kids, LOUD, Ohio State fanatic, always dancing, music loving personality.
Waiting in Paradise, Renée is preceded in death by her beloved sister Angela (Stewart) Chamberlain-Maskey, niece and nephew Paige and Colby Chamberlain, father, Hosea Stewart Jr., grandmother, Mary Bryson Hooper, and special uncles, Roy and Vaughn Bryson. She is survived by her mother, Frances Alberta Stewart of Los Angeles, CA; her three children, Cameo Stewart of Cincinnati, OH, Camara (Brett) Scott, and Cameron Coleman; grandchildren, Devon, Kevin, Kaleb and Kennedy Scott; sisters, Regina (Nathaniel) Bagley of Birmingham, AL and Leslie (Joseph) Perry of Clearwater, FL; brother, Christopher (Nakai) Coleman of Nashville, TN; special relatives, Asia Chamberlain of Perris, CA, Julianna and Mikaela Bryson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and lifelong friends whom she loved dearly.
