Inez H. Jones was welcomed into her eternal home on Friday, January 19, 2018. Born February 4, 1932 to Tims and Essie Mae Heller of Flint, MI, she was the youngest of eight children. Inez is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Inez, her sister, Mazel Ramey, and a wonderful host of loving nieces, nephews, dear friends and spiritual children and grandchildren.
Depending upon the person asked, Inez was often described as “strong, fiery and determined,” or “wise, godly and loving,” or “a powerful prayer intercessor.” However, she was, perhaps, best described as follows: “Inez fearlessly endeavored to obey God rather than man, regardless of the circumstances.” This caused her to earn the reputation of serving her God, her family and her community with high energy, intensity, integrity and conviction.
Some of Inez’ many accomplishments included: West Shore Christian Fellowship Trustee Board Chairman; Michigan Women’s Commission Honoree for leadership in state, business, education, government and community service; Chairwoman of the Muskegon Heights Michigan Education Assessment Program Task Force; Muskegon County Museum Trustee; Legislative Committee Chair of the Muskegon County Black Women’s Political Caucus; Secretary of the Muskegon County Republican Executive Committee; Co- Founder of the Muskegon Church Contact Community Impact Regional Network; and three time candidate for Michigan’s 92nd District state House seat. Shortly after moving to central Ohio, Inez was elected to serve on the Chippewill Condominium Unit Owners Association Board of Directors where she held a number of positions, including Board President for 10 years.
Inez’ legacy lives on through:
