Cynthia (Cindy) Warren

May 6, 1948 — September 20, 2019

Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Warren, age 71, died on September 20, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio.  Prior to her short residency in Ohio, Cindy lived all of her adult life in the Edgewood, Maryland area.  She was born and raised in Greenville, Pennsylvania, and was the youngest of two children.  A talented musician, Cindy developed a very early interest in music. Following high school, she attended and graduated from University of Mount Union, where she majored in music education. She had a long and rewarding career as a public school music teacher, and liked to tell of her most famous student, Cal Ripken Jr.  After retirement from teaching, she obtained a degree in Paralegal studies from Villa Julie College, and worked as Paralegal and also in the Harford County law library, which she found fascinating.

In her spare time, Cindy participated in the Baltimore chapter of The Society of Early Music - a Renaissance recorder group, the Deer Creek Chorale, and also learned to play classical guitar from friend and teacher, Marty Banghart.  She was very involved with her church communities at Christ Episcopal Church in Forest Hill, Maryland and St. Alban's Anglican Church in Joppa, Maryland.  Following her move to Ohio, she was graciously adopted by the clergy and parishioners at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Upper Arlington, who made numerous visits to her assisted living facility so she could participate in prayer and Communion.  She also doted on her beloved feline fur-kids, Daphne, Maggie, Victoria and Jessye.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Russell H. and Margaret L. (Hans) Warren, and is survived by her sister Susan, nieces Amy and Jennifer, and great-nephew Max Owen. Also survived by her best friend, the Rev. Frances A. LeBlanc, who was a constant support, especially during Cindy's hard-won battle with breast cancer.

Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Forest Hill, Maryland, at a future date to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cindy's name to any Alzheimer's research or breast cancer foundation, music organization, or animal rescue.
